About Robby

Robert T. May, Jr. was born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina in 1983 and has spent his entire legal career in service to the Warren County community. Robby joined the firm as a summer intern in 2006 — before he had even finished law school — and has never left. He interned with what was then Banzet, Thompson & Styers, PLLC during law school, joined as an associate upon his admission to the bar in 2009, and was named a partner in 2014 — at which point the firm adopted its current name to reflect his place in it. That arc, from intern to partner in the same firm, is a testament to the trust the firm has placed in him and the commitment he has made in return.

Robby earned his B.A. in History from Campbell University in 2006, then went on to earn his J.D. from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2009. He was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar that same year, and to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina in 2011.

Today, Robby’s practice centers on real estate transactions, title work, and estate planning and administration. He handles closings for buyers and sellers across Warren County and the surrounding region, conducts title searches, and prepares wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for clients at every stage of life. He also serves as guardian ad litem, representing the interests of minors in domestic matters before the court. His real estate practice covers the full range of residential and commercial transactions — from contract to closing, including deed preparation, title examination, lien searches, and coordination with lenders and title insurance companies. His estate practice is equally comprehensive, encompassing the preparation of wills, revocable living trusts, durable powers of attorney, and health care directives, as well as the administration of estates through the clerk of court. When families in Warren County need guidance on some of the most important transactions and decisions of their lives, Robby is the attorney they call.
